Put Yourself on Your Priority List !!

We lead crazy, busy lives. And the one thing we never seem to have time for, is ourselves. We have put ourselves out of the priorities we choose. We have work, family, kids, spouse, parents, friends, pets, so many things to worry about...where is 'ME' in that?
And we have many reasons when it comes to having no time for ourselves - not enough time, feeling guilty, or it feels selfish. The more giving and caring a person you are, the more these feelings seem to emerge.
But we all know that when we take time for ourselves to pursue our passions, do the things that we enjoy, relax or even do nothing at all, we end up happier, healthier and feeling better. "Me" time allows us to de-stress, unwind and rejuvenate. Taking time for yourself allows you to renew, heal, and create reserves of energy and peace.
It is very common to become so involved in giving to others that we fail to give to ourselves. But this is important. We can only make others happy if we are happy.
Put yourself in your priority list somewhere, it's a single life we get, value it :)

So true, we only have one life on this planet and we should spend as much time as we have enjoying ourselves. Happiness comes from within.

@shaynas Yup, I think the problem is that society usually tells us to spend more time helping others and be more productive in said area. Which is true but they can take that message too far.

@Megaflame37 Yes, that is the basic issue. If we spend time on ourselves, people make us feel guilty on how we should be working for family instead.

So true. I spent a lifetime with all you mentioned. Now I'm retired and living on my own, away from my kids and have only me time. I am happier and the amount of stress is greatly diminished. I still have a priority list that includes others, but 'me' is definitely on that list now as well.

That's nice. How much difference you feel when you compare the life before you had me time and now?

Right. In the race of life, we forget many things which brings us happiness. What we miss might never come back.
