Man Destroys Ten Commandments Statue at Arkansas Capitol--He Did This Twice!

United States

He says he is sorry and that he has mental issues. He also filmed this and put it on Facebook. I don't doubt that he has mental issues, but then he needs to treated as such. He should have his license taken away. It is necessary that he live in a halfway house whereby he must account for his action--after he gets out of prison. Once he is out of prison and is in a halfway house, he needs to do manual labor to pay for the destruction he has done.
A man yelled "Freedom!" as he crashed his vehicle into Arkansas' new Ten Commandments monument early Wednesday, nearly three years after he was arrested in the destruction of Oklahoma's monument ...

I agree with you. To do it twice in two different states is malicious. He doesn't have a mental issue. That was deliberate. He should make restitution, and his license revoked - permanently.

@MsBooklover True. I'm sure the ACLU would be right there playing the mental card for the guy.

@just4him There always seems to be an excuse. So many people crying wolf that you don't know when it is real, but this guy did it twice and put it in Facebook.com.

Exactly. People play the mental health card a lot today. If you are so unfit to do something like that twice, then you are not fit to live in society by yourself.

He did a bad thing. Is it really because of mental issues. He needs to be checked. Some people are crazy nowadays

@MsBooklover He is on his own crazy mission and I hope he is forced to do manual restitution as well.

@TiarasOceanView If people are viewed as able to be fit to live in society, then they need to be responsible for for what they do.

The fact that he did it twice and put it on Facebook....says he is not expected to be responsible.

Maybe they should stop putting it up. It is a violation of church and state.

Each person will have a different opinion about that. Still, destruction of public property is against the law.

Disgusting act mentally ill or not. How is someone like this driving a car in the first place? Was he really mentally ill if he had the gumption to put this on face-book? Very suspicious behavior

That is what I think. He was mentally sound enough to put it on Facebook.

If he's got mental issues, he needs a therapist. But we all know that won't happen.

They shouldn't have put it there in the first place.

What do you think they should have put there?

@MsBooklover Something not pertaining to any kind of religion. The church and state are separate. Although what he did is violation of the law. It doesn't give him an excuse.
