A mix of songs from different genres (Folk, Rock, Country Rock, R&B) that use the color green in the title. We have four "chestnuts" from the 60's and 70's today. 1. The recording artist and his band released this hit in 1962. The song was an instrumental composition with a rhythm and blues sound. Described as one of the most popular instrumental rock and soul songs ever. 2. This band's sound was based in Country Rock, but they used a "bayou feel" or "swamp rock" vibe to their music. This song was from their 3rd album of the same title name. It peaked at # 2 on the U.S. chart. The song was inspired from the artists childhood memories of this river located in California. 3. The band originated in Denver, Colorado and scored a top ten hit with this song. The song eventually rose to # 3 on the billboard chart. The artists had to change its name from "Chocolate Hair" before releasing their first album. The band renamed themselves after a mountain outside Boulder, Colorado. 4. This Canadian Singer-Songwriter helped define folk-pop in the 60's and 70's. He has been referred to as Canada's greatest songwriter and was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1986. Robbie Robertson of "The Band" called him a national treasure. Songs: 1. Green Onions 2. Green River 3. Green-eyed Lady 4. Bitter Green Know the artists? Any personal comments or information in your responses is welcome. Thanks for playing! *Bio information summarized from Wikipedia

I have a huge gap in music and artists it seems @dgobucks226 , because I don't know any of these. I am going to have to find these songs. Green-eyed Lady does sound familiar though.

Most of the music I enjoy listening to is pre-1980's. Of course their are exceptions as a good song is a good song to the listener in any era. It's just the music I listened to and enjoyed on the radio or purchased as a teenager/college student. A good sampling of 60/70's music is found on u-tube. Just type in the name of the song and you get a free listen. Free is a good thing Enjoy your day. Thanks for visiting

Green-eyed Lady was recorded by a rock group called Sugarloaf. See John Roberts response for the other 3 selections. Thanks for playing, hopefully with my posts I can expand your musical tastes.

As I have green eyes I loved the song mentioning ladies with green eyes. I remember the Green-eyed lady by Sugarloaf, I do not know the other three songs.

Yes, great to have green eyes to remember a song The other 3 are Booker T & The MG's, Credence Clearwater Revival, and the Great Canadian Singer-Songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. You might like Gordon's music, he sold very well not only in the U.S. but internationally.
