So Who's STILL Defending the Idiot in the White House?

Here we are again, Trumpcare is seemingly dead on arrival, the investigations continue regarding Russia and probable obstruction of justice by Donald Trump so Donald takes to Twitter and...attacks Joe and (especially) Mika causing a major all day long distraction! Few are defending him even in his own party but Deputy Press Secretary Sara Huckabee Sanders and part-time First Lady Melania seem to think it's perfectly fine to personally attack someone.
Remember how FLOTUS's special issue was going to be anti-bullying...
This is NOT "presidential" and this person will NEVER be anywhere close to presidential. Who else wishes he'd just resign and go away or, what the heck, let him sit on the can and tweet his brains out but it won't matter anymore!

How does one defend the indefensible? As some are starting to point out is what I thought all along ever since Trump was elected. The man is 71 and not changing for anything. He is not going to grow up if he has not already. The job is not going to make him a better person because he is not trying to become a better person.
Which leads to how do people think he is going to make the country greater if he is not even trying to make himself greater? The point is when he was elected with all the foul things he was saying and doing. From racism to fraud, the country still chose to elect him, that says more about us than him.
Everyone talks about how they hate how corrupt Washington has become, but clearly Many of the American people are just as corrupt and the country is running mostly as a corrupt entity.

@tallawah Indeed and imagine if Obama showed that/ Next is Putin, wait, meeting him next week. Should be disturbingly sad. The happiest he has ever been shown was when he was in the oval office with the Russians and the Russian press.

@anniepa Yes, I find his personal attacks on anyone rather disturbing. He said the same thing about Ted Cruz's wife also I guess, who is much more qualified than Melanie. He gives too much importance to the beauty but not the brains.
It's high time that some action has to be taken against him to give him a blow. A lesson to him would be very much appreciated by the world :)

It feels so, just like I am living in some fiction novel whenever I stop and think "Donald Trump is President". Then when I add in what he has done as president so far, I feel like its a book that doesn't end with him making America anything great. I do not consider myself a "wholesome" person by any means, and I can't understand how a country with such supposedly high values (such as I heard when Obama and Clinton were in charge) could elect a man so morally ugly. Hes hateful and angry, and there is nothing more ugly than that

I feel the same way and it's fiction that would be considered rather hard to believe. I watch and have watched plenty of movies and TV shows about Presidents and other political figures and I used to think how they were entertaining to watch but too far-fetched to ever actually happen. And now here we are in a reality stranger than any fiction I've ever read or watched. I also totally agree with you about the supposed "values". So many of the very same people who trashed President Clinton on a daily basis are now totally ignoring Donald Trump's far worse behavior. If anyone ever had any doubt about their hypocrisy they can forget them now for sure.
I've never believed in calling people ugly or putting them down based on appearance in any way, I just wasn't raised that way, but I admit I've made a huge exception with Trump because of the ugly and hateful way he's treated others for as long as I've known of him. He's called just about every one of the world's most beautiful women ugly or unattractive in one way or another. Doesn't he realize how that makes vulnerable young girls with low self-esteem feel? He's a sick individual.

Those still defending him should realize that he is a complete disaster for the image of your country in the world. The confidence in Trump compared to Obama has dropped so low that the damages will be difficult to repair : from 93 to 10 for Trump in Sweden, 84 to 14 in France, 79 to 22 in UK, 75 to 7 in Spain... The only countries where he improves the image of USA compared to Obama are Russia (11 for Obama, 53 for Trump) and Israel (49 to 56).
President Trump and many of his key policies are broadly unpopular around the globe, and ratings for the U.S. have declined steeply in many nations.

I'm one American who is very embarrassed by this man. I know the rest of the world matters, we're all a part of the same planet earth, and I care for and respect the people of the world. I sure can't speak for others but I know most of us feel the same but I sure understand our imagin has suffered greatly.

America caught the imagination of those looking for inspiration to improve their lot in life.
American political system was worth emulating and at the pinnacle of freedom.
After Trump became POTUS, things have changed as he is inward looking with a negative outlook on the outside world. It is more of closing the door to countries that were its allies. It feels like our leader has abandoned us after taking us more than half way. We are left to pick the pieces.
It is clear vested interests are dictating terms with mammon proving irresistible. I feel there there is no need to cast the blame on others and close the door; everyone benefits when we cooperate - siva

@anniepa Oh annie, I do enjoy your responses. Have there been any uplifting or optimistic speeches given by a POTUS abroad since Reagan? Are you suggesting that the Clinton News Network is free from bias? At least Fox are open about it. Bit worried about Murdoch's sons though.

And while I'm on a wee rant annie, Hitler was a National Socialist. Does anyone that waves now suddenly draw a direct line to a diminutive Austrian painter?

Hang on annie, Do you mean 'Obamacare?" I don't think Trump invented the failing healthcare system that his administration inherited? I'm not even a Yank and I heard about it.

We can all agree that this is a disaster not only for the USA but for the world generally. I think the more interesting and important question is 'how did we get here?' 50% of the population are below average intelligence and these are the people most likely to vote. Do they vote with their minds? ofcourse not, emotion is what sways voters and fear and anger are likely the most potent of these. So if we are going to protect ourselves from people like trump in the future, how do we prevent politicians from using our own emotions against us. Perhaps the answer is accountability, politicians are too happy to do U-turns on things they have said and written. Yet rarely are they held to account for this. Arguably the van guard of accountability appears to be comics, Trump has provided them with an endless supply of material that is both hilarious and relevant. Perhaps if we had more comics taking an active role in politics over social media, Politicians might think twice before embarressing themselves. The more cynical opinion may be that these people have no shame...
