Trolls?

I have been running a fan community for about 2 years now but recently the amount of trolls who keep trying to stir up trouble is getting me down. I can appreciate that some people might have mental health issues but I also sometimes get vile hate comments from people I have been chatting with via online video chat for a long time and who have seemed perfectly healthy. I can't comprehend what motivates people to post such nasty comments on social media. If we said such things in real life we would be ostracized or perhaps arrested.

Personally sometimes people can be outwardly cruel when it comes to things online. Even from people you think you know. They just try to run the roost to where you have to block them and many times never want to see them in person again

hope you hare able to block them from accessing the pages when they start causing trouble - a zero tolerance policy works best - offer no second chances - good luck

@redurnet they could do more damage of kept on - if they leave you thinking they could hurt your site they are effectively operating like protection racketeers - best to drive them out

It is sad this is happening to you. Could it be the folks who have been civil so long have been hacked? Are you able to moderate the comments and block certain people from posting?
I hope this activity desists and you are able to keep the site going.
