Learning to be content

I have wanted to move for at least the last three years or more as our family has outgrown our house. We don't have a whole lot of closet space and we really need a dining room, another bedroom & a homeschool/craft room would be an amazing bonus! Lately I've been trying to stay at home more and save money so that we can pay down the little bit that is on our credit card and save some money for our kids birthday trip (we do that instead of birthday parties). It is so weird to feel so content in a place that I never used to want to be. When I thought we might actually be moving a couple months back I started to think of all of the amazing things that happened in the last 6 years since we've bought this house. - My husband proposed to me in our living room - We got married - Both the older kids started school - We got pregnant in this house - We planted bushes for our miscarriage babies in this house - We brought home our now 2 yr old to this house - We've celebrated holidays here - We've watched our daughter learn to crawl here, walk & talk - Our older 2 learned how to ride their bikes in the backyard There are so many memories this house holds for us that I am content staying here for just a while longer. Have you ever felt a certain way and then thought about it for a minute & realized that you really felt a different way? Tell me about it!

@HeartBM I completely understand that! I've lived in 4 or 5 houses in my life and they all are still special to me because I've made memories there.

Contentment is very precious. I think it also opens the door to better things.

We are in the same phase. My boyfriend and I live in his house where he lived for the past 20 years. I moved in with him a year and a half ago. His house is big enough, but he built/remodeled around it befitting a bachelor's lifestyle. For example, a kitchen wth more counter space and deeper sink would be lovely. Also, a bigger garage is also part of the wishlist as this is the reason why we are holding off in buying a new car for me. We lived in the midwest where we need to have a safe place for the cars from constant hail. Despite all the wants and wishes for a house, this house held lots of memories for us. For example, this is where we first kissed and confessed our love for each other.

So did you end up moving or staying? Did you like the new place you moved to if you did move?
