We are Officially Foster Parents

United States
July 1, 2017 9:44pm CST
Today we received a letter from the State declaring that we are now Foster Parents. We can only have one child, and that child is our granddaughter. That isn't a problem for us. We only went into this because of our granddaughter. We will still need to take courses to remain licensed. But, we would jump hurdles for our Little Miss.

Thank you Jennifer. We only have to complete the courses that are required by the State. Thankfully they are offered over the phone.

Thank you. Now we only need to follow through and take the necessary courses. The first starts in a couple of weeks and will run for 5 weeks.

Thank you Jabo. We now only have to take the trainings they require. I guess we proved from our home visits that we are a good fit for our granddaughter.

That is awesome! Yay. But why can you only have one foster child?

We only want to Foster our granddaughter. Our home is too small for any other additions. Perhaps when we buy land and build a bigger home we will change our minds.

When we first interviewed they said we could have up to 4 children in our home. We only have a very small 2 bedroom home. I told them from the start that we would only want to Foster our granddaughter.

Because she is in State's custody we have to follow their protocol before that can happen.
