My Elderly Friend Died

She was 90. I thought she would live longer because she wasn't ill. She lived in a hostel, a nursing home.
My German lady friend and somewhat like a mother to me passed away on Thursday. I had not visited her in a long while. And the news so saddened me. She was very sharp in her mind. Very kind and headstrong.
She had published books and Christmas musicals. I had the honour of editing her latest book before it got published. She was very witty and funny. We had years of shared moments of stories together about her time of escapes, and witnessed the hardships of her Jewish neigbours during the Nazi Germany.
I've requested my friend's nurse and carer if I could keep my friend's childhood journals, diaries and manuscripts of her written work. They were written in German. But I would love to keep them to treasure in her memory. I deeply hope that her valuables will not go in the trash.
I miss her so much.

Thank you. She was a beautiful child of God. I'm sure she is in the Presence of God now, resting in peace.

I am so sorry for the loss of someone so close to you. =( It's always harder when someone passes who wasn't sick. I will pray for everyone's comfort that knew and loved her.

Not sure youd be able to have those as you aren't family.. but do hope they don't go in the trash.
