July 3, 2017 I'm not interested in soccer, not one bit. But... ...Championship tennis, I love it. For me, the championships of the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open are a feast of delight. But I hardly get to see them on tv because the televising of those matches has been taken over exclusively by the cable networks. Years ago, all these championship matches could be seen on major television networks ABC, NBC, CBS. But no more. For example, I will be able to see only the Men's and Women's singles finals, televised by ABC. They'll be re-runs, but that doesn't matter to me. I won't get to see the semi-finals at all, other than highlights (maybe). I've tried like everything to figure out how to watch online, but apparently I don't have the correct internet service to do that. I'm not interested in soccer, not one bit. But I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of soccer to watch on antenna tv instead of championship tennis.

Yes, ESPN took over the day-to-day tennis coverage years ago. Big upset today, Stan Wawrinka got beat today in round 1??? It's a shame a lot of sports programing has gone to cable networks. Sometimes some of the best matches happen in the earlier rounds. Money talks!

OMG, that is totally unexpected! Thanks for the news. One thing I can do is keep up with early scores, but that just isn't the same as watching the play, is it.

@blitzfrick Sometimes if I miss something the ESPN website will have a replay of the match. Not the same as live, but it's something. Some upset, huh. Good news for Murray, Stan was in his half of the bracket!

@blitzfrick I am sorry though. I thought this might be accessible to people in the US.

Yes it is and yes it does. I think about my mother, seeing her culture fade away as she grew old. It's the times, passing me by. Bah.

I haven't watched tennis in years . I notice there's a tennis channel and matches are shown on sports channels. You didn't check the channels?
