My Bathroom is Destroyed. Well, in the Process of Renovation Actually!

We have had the new bathtub sitting in the box in the middle of our living room for several days now. The cat loves using it as her personal perch. Little Miss hides her toys inside the opening where hubby took a peek to see if it really was a tub.
And it also makes a nice place for me to put my clothes that I've removed from the rack and folded. But, I would like it to be placed where it belongs
Hubby asked me if I was done with the water right after dinner last night. I told him I would like to get the dishes done before he shut off the water. He did wait for me to finish the dishes. Just wish I had drawn a couple of buckets of water so we could flush the toilet!
Why my husband decides to wait until the last minute of the day to start a project is beyond me. I knew he would run out of steam before the first step was done. He ripped out the old tub and tossed it out the back door. There was no shut off valve inside the bathroom to turn the water off. There is one now, but the weld isn't watertight. After 3 attempts to get it right, he stopped for the night. Said the floor needed to dry anyway. The tub had a slow leak in the drain and it turned for the worse which caused a lot of damage to the flooring.
Of course I would have to make several trips to the bathroom last night and feared something would pop its head out of the huge hole in the floor. I was freaked out.
Hoping that the job is finished by the time I get home today. It is doubtful that it will be done though. I have one client today for only 2 hours. Hubby is still sleeping and probably won't get up before 9 or 10.
I just am eager to get the renovations done so we don't have an indoor outhouse.

That's the problem sometimes with doing a repair or renovation jobs, unforseen problems starts popping up and adds to the original cost or estimate, that's why I make it a practice to have back up funds before I start ripping out things in the house.

We had a little cushion and had to use it because my husband was out of work for 5 weeks. He should be going back in a couple of weeks though. However, that doesn't help out our dilemma at the moment.

Oh great! Now I will be checking out the toilet before I sit down. I've heard rats can do the same thing.

@BelleStarr we now have wood with nail spikes in them that are placed around the trash can. Haven't had a problem with bears since we placed them.

Ugh! I have to have a workable bathroom. That would not be fun at all. I hope you feel it was worth it when all is said and done.

When it is finished it will be wonderful. He is working hard on getting it done. I just have to be patient, but I am lacking patience these days.

He has been working on it most of the afternoon. He just carried the tub to the bathroom. My living room just has a big flat box on it. Little Miss is delighted with her new play area. LOL.

I grumbled when I realized that there was only one bathroom here. But, thought we could make due with one. Yeah, I was wrong. LOL.
The tub is in now. He has to fix the floor, but we need the plywood to do that. I am having him bleach the floor and beneath too. Mold is bad.

When I was house hunting this last time, one place had a rotted floor in the bathroom and someone had placed a couple industrial rubber mats over it. Not hardly good enough! The place was vacant so no one was actually still living there.

Yeah, that is not the solution to the problem. The floor needs to be replaced for safety reasons.

Renovations can certainly upset everything and I'm sure you're anxious for it all to get done as quick as possible.

I know this is quite troublesome.
Hey, my bathroom is also getting renovated by bathroom renovation San Jose . I will be installing a bath tub and extra shelves in my bathroom. I am hoping to get my bathroom renovated without such issues.
