MLB Went All Godfather On Me

It's one of those lines from a movie that is an indelible part of American culture: I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse. That promise/subtle threat from Vito Corleone in The Godfather has almost become a cliché since that classic movie introduced it 45 years ago (45 years ago???? Ouch!). Usually today it's more of a great deal on something that's just too good to pass up. Well, the MLB Network went all Godfather on me. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse. In honor of the 4th of July MLB is offering a subscription to MLB.TV (meaning you can watch it in a hotel room and don't have to rely on just ESPN frothing about football or some other sport six months from starting) for $20.17. (Hey, see what they did there?) Way, way too cheap for me to pass up. So now I have a subscription to MLB.TV and can watch the other teams in baseball, not just the Y*nk**s and the Red Sox (the only two teams ESPN seems to think are in existence, based on their coverage). I'm watching the Mariners game now (sentimental favorite, because my brother was stationed there when the Mariners came into existence; and, of course, because of Junior Griffey). I can also listen to radio games, which means I don't have to endure the Cincinnati Reds broadcasters inexplicably touting a pitcher with a 27.00 ERA as "a great pitcher" anymore.... Batter up!!!!
