MLB Went All Godfather On Me

It's one of those lines from a movie that is an indelible part of American culture:
I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse.
That promise/subtle threat from Vito Corleone in The Godfather has almost become a cliché since that classic movie introduced it 45 years ago (45 years ago???? Ouch!). Usually today it's more of a great deal on something that's just too good to pass up.
Well, the MLB Network went all Godfather on me. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
In honor of the 4th of July MLB is offering a subscription to MLB.TV (meaning you can watch it in a hotel room and don't have to rely on just ESPN frothing about football or some other sport six months from starting) for $20.17. (Hey, see what they did there?) Way, way too cheap for me to pass up.
So now I have a subscription to MLB.TV and can watch the other teams in baseball, not just the Y*nk**s and the Red Sox (the only two teams ESPN seems to think are in existence, based on their coverage).
I'm watching the Mariners game now (sentimental favorite, because my brother was stationed there when the Mariners came into existence; and, of course, because of Junior Griffey). I can also listen to radio games, which means I don't have to endure the Cincinnati Reds broadcasters inexplicably touting a pitcher with a 27.00 ERA as "a great pitcher" anymore....
Batter up!!!!
Here's The Baseball Project (great band, a "superband" of sorts, created by members of the Young Fresh Fellows, the Dream Syndicate, and R.E.M.) with a baseball song...of course, that's all they do, baseball songs:

I know what you mean of the baseball coverage by ESPN which makes the Three Stooges video short "Slippery Silks" when Vernon Dent asked the boss of the Three Stooges if "The work will be done in competent hands" and Curly answered "Soitenly! We are all incompetent."

It's so bad that they now simulcast Intentional Talk from MLB. That says everything you need to know about their "coverage." And I don't think the Three Stooges should be linked in comparison to ESPN, the Stooges were much more intelligent.

@FourWalls The Three Stooges are the kings of slapstick comedy.

@Deepizzaguy -- that they are. ESPN is hardly kings of anything, except annoyance.

I get to watch MLB Network for free on Direct. Is this service to watch any game you want not just what is scheduled?

Yes, this carries all 15 games every day. The only blackouts are home teams (and sheesh, who wants to watch the Reds this year [although I am watching them on TV right now because I want to see how many home runs the appropriately-named Homer Bailey is going to give up at Coors Field]) and network exclusive games like the ESPN Sunday night game (but again, who wants to watch the Y*nk**s or Red Sox every week?).

I was not aware that there were other teams than the Yankees and the Red Sox. I'd better check to see if we have a team here in Colorado.

@teamfreak16 -- wow, someone loves Collin Raye a lot.
Last time I checked, they were leading the Reds. That's one bad thing about this: I can't watch Reds games live because they're the "local team," but I can watch as soon as the game's over.
