Are you OK with really short posts?

Posts like this one?
I think that people have a block and really dont know what to write or are to scared to show their real self so they post questions to see how many people are like them and who is not, so if its taboo they will hide they are into it.
No I do not mind, after all I write them all the time since I am a very shy and private person

If I get kicked off the site, I'm going write an angry post about it! Wait. I'll be gone. Anna, if you block me, I'm going to revenge-block you! Wait. I don't think I can do that. Oh, fiddlesticks. I was in a rush this morning.

@CoralLevang Now "fascinating posts" like this one is in the eye of the beholder. If one does not care to read about what someone has for breakfast, lunch and dinner, they can just skip over that post. It's kind of like a buffet, you pick out the topics you like

Well, I think it's something newbies do when they don't realize yet that interacting is key here, not writing multiple posts. I only really bothers me if I bother to respond to such a post (which I don't always do) and don't get a comment back.

It really just depends on what they have to say. The post you did here is fine with me

Yes I am...I'm ok with pretty much anything as long as the person gets back to me in some way.
People have an issue with short posts but ask the right question and a short post CAN turn into a massive discussion if handled right by the starter...or it is seen as spam before it gets going and is removed

Cogito ergo sum...3 words that have inspired countless discussions...if descartes had put that up as a discussion on mylot it'd probably be removed.
So, whilst getting the humour in your one sentence post, I have decided to add my views
My view is that it is not quantity it is quality...and the ability of readers to possibly look beyond the surface.

No, was going to leave it right there, but done it before. Sometime feel a bit lonesome on here. Cannot blame me.

I like to hear their views too. I don't mind short posts but at least a paragraph. Too long of a post I might not read it ;)

@Mike197602
Exactly :)
It's entirely up to us who we want to comment on or not. Some are long winded and I don't want to read all that.
Sometimes I wish I never read some posts because I didn't learn anything either lol!

I often hear that X post is too short or X post is too long etc etc.
At the end of the day it's up to us what we respond to and don't respond to.
You're pretty easygoing and just skip stuff you don't like as I do...no point getting our knickers in a twist when there is plenty more to read

@Courtlynn What was it over? I don't know that I would block anyone. Even if someone said stuff that was disgusting to me, I'd want to watch them and see how people reacted to them.

If it's spelled right and has a complete thought/ question, yeah. But I have seen several asinine one sentence posts.

Well sometimes I respond to such discussions, at other times I skip and occasionally I ask for more details.

I am okay with short posts, but no to the posts where people ask a question and leave no context. If someone asks a question, I want to know why they are asking this question, I want to know if they also have an opinion or answer for their own question. It just gives the post more to understand what is going on.

@DesirousDreamer It's also what the site is all about--conversation!

@TheHorse I see that but it is also is a good conversation to have. I just love when comments are longer than the posts itself. I think that is the funniest thing to happen.

A short post is okay if you come back with more content in the answers you give to the comments you will receive. That's one of the different ways to extend your discussions. If you expose already all information when you start your discussion, your answers will be shorter afterwards.

I like to respond to short posts. They took less time to read them but also for our responses we are get paid. Sincerely, I have no time to deal with long posts. They are time consuming but earnings are the same. But I don't accept to comment and answer the posts where writers ask a question but give no insight into his own views on what they ask about.
