More students still prefer note or netbooks than windows tablets

I have an 8" windows tablet, which functions exactly the same as other note or netbooks. I planned to give it to my daughter who just graduated from high school. She's been accepted in the university. The tablet will be useful as I know assignments will be much more worked on using note/netbooks. Although windows tables work exactly the same as netbooks do, she doesn't seem interested in my tablet and asked me to buy her a notebook. My purpose of giving her my tablet is that I want to cut corners spending money on the device. We have priority like saving the money to pay her semester tuition, which is high. What's your take on this?

Well I graduated college in Dec. 2016. I used a regular laptop but I never used it much in class. I took notes by hand I used it to do online assignments. The assignments I had would've been difficult to do on a tablet.
Most of the students I saw that used something in class had MacBooks. However some had a netbook or notebook. Few used a tablet. The only time I used a tablet was to study slides or used the Quizlet app. However I much prefered to use my laptop due to screen size.
It doesn't surprise me she would prefer a notebook. I don't know what type of classes she will take but some of mine, the assignments used programs that would not work on a tablet.

Thank PrettiMamita. That's awesome explanation. I'll probably sell my tablet and buy her a netbook. The money from selling the tablet will of course not be enough.

@yanzalong That would be a good idea. It may not be enough but it can help lower the cost. I do suggest comparing prices when you do buy her one. Sometimes you can find some good deals especially if you buy online.

A tablet works well here for most things @yanzalong
Hope it does there too and you can save that money!
