Good afternoon and on this off and on showers.
What is the biggest food trend in your area?
Here in New Hampshire as I was surprised by this.
They want a well made homemade mac and cheese
Most people seems to want a lot of that these days,
They say it has been one of the best menu items.
I have never had mac and cheese out.But just here.
Below this is how Mike made his mac and cheese

In a saucepan, melt butter or margarine over medium heat. Stir in enough flour to make a roux. Add milk to roux slowly, stirring constantly. Stir in cheeses, and cook over low heat until cheese is melted and the sauce is a little thick.

Here people are buffet crazy... we say " slop the pigs" type of food. Fried, fried and fried, dipped in flour and fried. AND pour sugar all over it.
Diabetes made me have to give up mac and cheese.
I would love to open a healthy food chain of restaurants.

I don't know about the trend here. I always like our traditional food, which is south Indian food...rice and curry two times a day for lunch and dinner, and idly or dosa for breakfast

I don't really know food trends in our area since I cook for myself every day. I know pizza is huge here, and once again, I just prefer to make my own. Funny that I've never made my own mac 'n cheese, though! I'm going to try Mike's recipe one of these days! Thanks for including it!

That's how I used to make my mac 'n cheese and it was yummy! I found a recipe that's not quite as good but still very tasty and easier to make.
Melt 1T butter in the bottom of a 8x8 casserole and cover the bottom with macaroni. Stir so the butter coats it then make it flat. Salt and pepper it as you wish. Pour enough milk over it to cover it than as much cheese as you want. Bake it until the milk is all absorbed and all you have is the pasta and cheese. I always leave a little milk and stir it well so it's a little creamier.

In Mississippi everyone eats grits, cornbread, veggies from the garden, fried chicken or fried anything and lots of sweet iced tea.

It's a toss up between Mexican food and Tex-Mex, similar but there are many differences between the two. In Dallas, Tacos and enchiladas as well as Elotes, 'Corn in a Cup' are popular.

I live in New Mexico and the question of the day around here is "red or green". This is referring to the color of Hatch Green Chile that you want on your food. Red is not as hot and green is hotter, in my opinion. This stuff is so popular, we even send it to friends and family. If you like Mexican food, then you'll love New Mexican Food! We have our own way of doing things.
