Never have to much of a good thing, in this case songs using the word "black" in the title. 1. This English rock band helped usher in the age of heavy metal music. They were as influencial to 70's music as the Beatles were in the 60's. The track was inspired by the bass player listening to a Muddy Waters song. 2. This Spanish group with a German lead singer had an international hit with this tune. Although the band was from Spain, they sang this hit in English and recorded it in London. The 60's track peaked at # 2 in the UK. 3. The song is off the Katy Lied album. This single reached # 37 on the charts and marked the first appearance of Michael McDonald on the LP. This American rock/jazz/blues band used a revolving cast of studio musicians asking them to sometimes do up to 40 takes in search of the perfect sound. Songs: 1. Black Dog 2. Black is Black 3. Black Friday Know the artists/bands who wrote these songs? Any personal comments about the songs or bands in your answers is always appreciated. And as I always say, Thanks for playing! The only one I know is "Black is Black", I still have the vinyl. It was a song by rock band Los Bravos, I do not know who wrote the song. Another with the black color that I loves is "Paint it Black", by The Rolling Stones, released the same year as Black is Black, 1966, written by Jagger/Richards.

@marlina Classic Stones song! It's on a CD I have called "Hot Rocks." Has so many early Rolling Stones hits from the 60's-70's I enjoy

I like Black is Black and I could add some more great songs Black Night by Deep Purple, Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones and Back To Black by Amy Winehouse.

Thanks for the additions. Paint it Black is one of my favorite Stones songs. Amy Winehouse was considered very talented. A shame what happened. Deep Purple, never thought of that one good pick!

Led Zep, in my opinion the greatest band ever.

Yes, you will get little argument from me on that one! They took the baton from the Beatles as a musical influence and ran with it into the future. Sad about John Bonham His son Jason has a Led Zep review tribute band which is cool
