I'm on my way to Lexington for a concert tonight. This may be a very full next two weeks, if I get to see every concert I want to. But we shall see. "Before" I leave, here's another song on my list of favorites with "before" or "after" in the title.
#3: Before They Make Me Run - Rolling Stones
WHAT??? The Rolling Stones ranked higher than Patsy Cline??? You feeling okay, hillbilly?
I know. Weird, isn't it. I'm not much of a Rolling Stones fan. However, at my first two rock concerts in 1978 this album played extensively (not to mention all the airplay it received), and I fell in love with it. To this day, it remains the only Rolling Stones album I've ever owned.
And here's Keef. They don't usually let Keef sing lead, but here he is, singing about his Canadian drug bust. He acknowledges it's a danger, with sometimes fatal consequences ("booze and pills and powder, you've got to choose your medicine, well it's another goodbye to another good friend" [many believe the "farewell" is to Gram Parsons, who died of an overdose in 1973, and who many believe actually wrote, or at least collaborated on, the song "Wild Horses"]).
I'm sure we all have our favorite Keith Richards joke. Mine came from the now-defunct Musician magazine. They had a list of how music trends had changed over the decades, listing who was the "sexy star" in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The last category was this:
Walking Death 60s: Keith Richards; 70s: Keith Richards; 80s: Keith Richards.
And he's gonna outlive us all....

Watch my tail lights fading:
I do not own copyrights to this song. Nice Stones song, Keith on vocals, acoustic, electric and bass.. What a hero! Enjoy :D

That's part of the fun of these, trying to rank the songs. I just usually go with which do I listen to more.

Poor Keith Richards and all the jokes. Good tunes though.

Yes, you may have gotten heat stroke from the golf course "mistakenly" ranking the Stones above Patsy!
