I so agree with you on this!!!! It's really disgusting what the others charge - trying to make up for the fees that get charged!!!! But I guess if there are people out there willing to pay it - then I guess they feel they are in the right!!! I too sell on there and have never overcharged on the s/h fees - actually I usually undercharge or give free shipping - to me it's all about making it a positive experience on both ends.

What is the difference you see 2 auctions for the same thing
one is 10 dollars with a 40 dollar shipping and handling fee and the other one is 40 dollars with a 10 dollar shipping and handling fee they are the same either way you look at it.
the only difference is that ebay is making more money on the auction than the other, or the seller is paying more in ebay fee's that the other seller. it is the same cost to you the buyer

speaking as aavid buyers and sellers on ebay.. ebay's charges per items sold is the reason that people charge highter shipping labels.. you have to understand that if you sold anthything on there before . but if you havent heres how it works.. ebay charges you for every item you list.. sale or no sale.. they charge you by many different things.. starting price, pictures included, length of auction, if you put in a reserve, but it now options.. these are all seperate fees! and not only that you are charged in different brackets as to your starting price .. say for example if you put in an item to sell for a starting price of $60 its relatively 4x the cost of puting in at $10 .. and then theres ANOTHER charge if it sells!~ a % of the sale price!.. BUT heres the thing! there are NO FEES as to the S&H aspect of the sale.. no $ difference whatsoever! so its ALOT cheaper to say sell the item for $10 with an outrageous shipping fee even like a $40-$50 fee.. because you dont have to pay ebay on that income.. jsut a way to get around some of their DISTURBING fees that jsut keep goin up and up..
next time you are looking at an item.. take into consideration not only the price but the S&H as well.. added together should be equal to or less than the value of the item to you!

I am a seller on ebay, I try my best to charge a fair shipping charge. I have a scale and weigh the item, then I go to the postal web site to figure my shipping charges. Sellers have to pay for the containers to ship the items and also gas to take things to the post office. The cost of shipping things is high. I agree that some sellers do charge to much to ship things. Don't bid on those items, I have shipped a laptop computer, I charged $35 to ship, actual cost was $34.00 to ship, that sounds like a lot of money to ship it. The post office charges alot of money, also there are insurance cost to consider too.

there are some sellers who overcharge for the shipping and other charge fairly. I once bought this item and the shipping fee was 80Php, and there was this another item and the shipping fee costs 400Php, the item size was the same, though the item was different, and I think its because of the insurance. To make sure that if something goes wrong in shipping, the item will be replaced by the insurance company.
