Its Friday & the partying has already began to go in waves in your mind. Now, I have just got something for you to think about. Today turned out to be a day of great debates between two groups in our team. One prophesied that the mother earth is spherical & the other group had argued that it flat. We pointed out that seasonal variations , time differences , shadow of earth on moon during lunar eclipse , objects disappearing over the horizon etc attributing to the fact the earth is indeed spherical. Horizon not a curve but a striaghtline, movement from one place to others in a plane, etc seemed to speculate that earth is not round but flat. What do you think about this???

It's flat? So, don't go too near the edge or you'll fall off!

The Earth was flat many moons ago, but has been spherical for a long time now.

The shape of the earth is a topic of heated discussion. It's not, as scientists have confirmed, perfect spherical! It's an irregularly shaped ellipsoid, like a pear, confirmed by NASA. But there have been further studies of the measurements of earth. It's a topic of geodesy and only the principles employed within it can actually predict the shape of the earth. Also because earth is constantly revolving, the shape is that of a basketball when revolving at a very high speed. More like an oval. What can we say?
