Wimbledon 2017 finished today with the Men's Single finals.
I wasn't surprised that Federer won and I felt so sorry for Cilic who had some sort of panic attack during the match. He also had some sort of injury to his heel, but I don't think that was the major reason he actually cried during one of the court changes.
Federer is like a freakin roboman when he plays. He's ruthless and when he smells blood he goes for the kill. That's not to say Cilic didn't make a ton of errors.
Overall, the match was too unbalanced to make for enjoyable viewing, in my opinion.

With Nadal out earlier, the way was paved for Federer. He has racked up all his championships in an era of weak competition.

I couldn't agree more. Nadal and Djokovic are the only two that I've seen give him a hard time at Wimbledon.

I wonder about his stopping. The commentators discussed the possibility too.

@blitzfrick A couple of times he said something during an interview at the Swiss TV that made me think he will not continue for long time.

@LadyDuck Aha. I guess the tennis world must wait and see. It would be nice of him to retire and let others have a shot at some of these championships. Plus I don't think anyone likes to see a champion compete past his time. It's sad to watch the decline of a great athlete.

@blitzfrick , it was definitely too much for Cilic. But well done to Roger showing that age is just a number.

Yes, it ended too soon for me too, but I suspect it couldn't be over soon enough for Cilic, poor guy. I think he had a 5-set match in the semis so he had to be exhausted to begin with. I don't think he'd have won in any case, but the match might've been more interesting if he'd been rested.

@blitzfrick I feel for Cilic too
He was reduced to tears when he was with the physio
It must have taken so much hard work to reach there and to not be able to play to full potential must have been disheartening for him and his team :(

@vsai2008 I agree. Do you remember Federer crying during a post-game interview when he lost Wimbledon to Nadal?
