yea, but diamonds are made from the element Carbon...and everything living on planet earth is made from carbon...is it the length of time it take to form diamonds?

Something that is not easily found are expensive. It's natural but you need so many years to form it. Virtually indestructible, one of a kind.

Diamonds are expensive because of the amount of time that it takes for it to form. Once the diamond mines are all mined out it will take a long time for there to be any more, longer than any of us will be around for. And we will see that as diamonds continue to sell, the price will go up because they will become more and more rare.
