Oh look, a remnant of my youth in the aftermath of Chester Bennington's death...

So in discussing Chester Bennington's passing with @mssunshine, I searched for a Final Fantasy IX AMV my brother downloaded from the internet in 2005. And low and behold, I found it: I'm surprised this still exist on the net. It was the first time I heard "In The End" in earnest, and ended up influencing the creation of a character, Hayate and his adventures with an established character, Kayame in the dream realm. This also resulted in me listening to "In The End" on iTunes and my iPod while writing and drawing fantasy based stories during my adolescent years. This isn't the only thing I found, but the timing of finding this now is bittersweet...

In the end is really always used in AMV's. When I was a teen, i remember listening to Numb and Somewhere I belong after nagging sessions from my parents. Simple Plan, Linkin Park,Papa Roach, and Audioslave are my to go to bands after being verbally abused by my parents,

@CaptAlbertWhiskerHuh, didn't expect to learn that about you. I assumed you weren't a Linkin Park fan. :p Also My first encounter with Numb was the Numb/Encore mashup from the Collision Course Album... I listened to that earlier today, and it made me wishing it was 2005 again... I miss those days. Playing Kingdom Hearts(among other PS2 games), having morning Yugi-Oh card game sessions with a group of gaming anime fans. Few of the highlights of teen years when I wasn't cursing humanity, or dealing with the helplessness towards situations in my personal life. Compared to my adulthood, my teen hood was a simpler time, and Linkin Park's music was part of that simpler time. But I'm guessing the news of Bennington's fate was hard hitting for you too?

@CaptAlbertWhisker It took me a minute, but you're right. Because The Jonas Bros. didn't come about until 2007 or so. Until then during the early 2000s it was Linkin Park, Disturbed, Slipknot, Deftness, and various hip-hop/rap acts as opposition... No wonder I want my adolescence back. No boybands, and this is coming from a guy who liked N Sync and Backstreet Boys un-ironically, even as a teenager. Oh I know what it was, it was the monotonous indifferent sound of boybands that followed. And the initial appeal for Linkin Park for me was the mixture of Metal and rap. Well that and Mike Shinoda's raps in the band were something I could relate to(Finally) which mainstream hip-hop never gave me. Hell I didn't even learn of Nerdcore's existence until about 2010, which is another rap genre I can relate to. But I get the initial reception to Minutes To Midnight, but in my honest opinion, this is something I enjoy about metal bands like Iron Maiden, Disturbed, Linkin Park, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath is they experiment with their sounds to where no two albums sound alike. Now the execution varies from person to person, but I tend to give's an "E" for effort. :p

Yes, I have also heard many songs sung by the lead singer in many of the video games. It gives me chills and all the more inspiration to tune to it once again. May God rest his soul in peace! Amen!

@shikharava Yeah, I find myself watching old AMVs like that ended up making me a bigger Linkin Park fan... I think I'm the "acceptance" stage of grief, though I'm not sure as I've been disgruntled ever since I first got the news. Oh and I found another remnant of my youth: Kinda missing the years before youtube right now... :p

This is one of those celebrity deaths that really affected me. Being a big fan of Linkin Park, I hoped it was just internet rumours but it wasn't sadly.
