Glad it was a small bird!

I have mentioned along the way that I feed birds in my yard and enjoy all that activity. I also started taking pretty long fitness walks early each morning. Now, I am not going to say that it was lack of gratitude on the part of the bird that nailed my hat as he flew over. After all, he may not even frequent the feeders in my yard. He had been breakfasting on blackberries growing near the lake and and probably did not even really target my hat. All I heard was a little "plop," then took my hat off to see the "gift" he had left. I whacked my cap on the sidewalk before the little mess dried and got most of it off. I'm glad it was an old cap and Really Glad that the bird was not a gull, crow or goose!

If it gets no worse, I won't worry, just keep wearing an old cap.

No lie, last year I was 'christened' two days in a row by seagulls. I forget which happened first, but I think it was the time that it hit me in the thigh of my jeans as I was eating Chinese food in an outside dining area. I was with my wife and daughter at Cedar Point amusement park eating dinner. THANKFULLY the bugger's bomb dropping didn't land in my plate! The VERY NEXT DAY we were back at the park again and I got splatted right on the top of my bare head! With all of the amusement park food and being right on the Lake, there is never a shortage of seagulls at the park, but I am often keenly aware of them flying overhead. I just make a point of NEVER looking up at them - just in case!!!

Good thing it was an old hat. I hate when birds do that. They have left their mark on my plastic on my scooter.
