I'll Be There For You

I will still love you when you are still attending the antenatal clinic, when the baby cannot stop crying, when the maternity leave seems so short and when you are still not sure if your shape still excites me.
I will still love you when you are afraid that your belly wouldn't get smaller, when the clothes no longer fit, when you are so crunky, when you can't seem to stop eating, when you no longer trust that weighing scale near Mfangano and when everything feels so confusing.
I will still publicly carry your bag with the Cartoon characters, still buy and change the diapers, hold the baby when she cries at night so that you can enjoy a few hours of those elusive mornings.
I will still come home when you call me from the Umoja locals, when you summon me from the stories at kijiweni, when I am watching the game and when I am out there escaping my responsibilities.

That's very sweet and I'm sure your wife will appreciate your devotion and helpfulness and reassurance. How many children do you have and when are you expecting the first if you have no children or the next one if you do?

Something for the men to digest, we tend to fail to give women support when they need it.
