Looking Inside Her Eyes

They greet each other with a hug, a peck on the lips and a rub on the back. The young men greet with their fist using a closed fist and a connection of the shoulders, and with faces full of smiles. They are the new generation who don't believe in the simplicity of the simple handshake and a genuine eye lock. They even hold hands and share a few moments of the village gossip. They are intelligent enough to avoid genuine conversation by the use of text messaging and whatsapp texts. At every meeting even a coffee date you will always see them concentrating on the lights from their phones instead of the closeness of each other. It's the only communication they know. They katia women only when their friends are around or within their vicinity and they do all the emotional stuff in groups. They don't say the words that we used to say, they don't hold the palms tightly as we used to, they don't browse through the estates as we used to. They don't wait in the darkness nor take advantage of the night to throw a few romantic lines. They are the children on the internet age, they don't know the warmth of a good kiss, the shyness of a woman's look, the laugh from a convincing language, the quiet acceptance of a positive NO and the long walk of shame when you escort her home very early in a sinful morning.

This is so thoughtful. It's true. Things have changed. Social networks have made us anti social. Oh the irony.

That's the point, with clenched fists we greet each other yet we dont even mean it.
