Live, don't just exist.

During the night, a thought passed through my mind. There was no electricity, and my room was very dark, I has no source of light with me. I wondered, what if something happened and I died before morning.
My plans, my dreams, my aspirations.... What will happen to them? Poof! Everything will be gone, just like that. I sat up abruptly, rejecting any form of death around me, but what if it happens? Have I lived? Was I happy? Did I love? This requires some thought...

I agree, living and existing are two different things. Even a stone got existence., but it has no life of its own. And when we compare our life to that of other creatures we may see this difference grow even bigger. Life is not about living, it's more than that. Life is all about taking active part in it, scaling through adversities, this roller coaster ride called life and searching its meaning. It is about understanding our life and how it is connected with nature and the world. It is about leaving something behind (an idea, a thought, a contribution) that gives the whole new meaning to life itself, for we were never born to just eat, drink, grow, mate or for such mundane things, even animals do that. We were born for far bigger things, the things which only we can see and understand. To see life in the face and smile.

Will people remember me when I die? Will I leave them a legacy, something to remember me by?

Nice write-up if I may add we don't know when we might leave this world we should endeavour to forgive, love unconditionally, be happy even if we find our self's in bad situations, do what gives you joy, spend time with loved ones in essence live a legacy behind, research tells us that most people on their dying bed tend to regret not doing most of this things.
