School Planning and Book Launch Makes a Busy Week

The last two days I have been out to my new school rearranging the desks, trying to decide what to do for bulletin boards (I don't do bulletin boards but now I have to) and outlining some lesson plan ideas.
The teacher I'm replacing left behind no plans and no pacing guide so I'm starting from scratch for the most part. That's find and dandy with me because I can do it the way I want.
I stayed home today as there were several things I wanted to print out and I'm not on the network at the school yet. I also have a reading assignment from my principal I need to finish and I don't get much read when I'm in my classroom as so many other things clamor for my attention.
In the midst of all this school prep, I've also been planning the launch of my new book on Saturday. I'm hosting an event on FB with giveaways and games from 11 to 2 EDT. Still have some planning and prep to do for that, too.
How is everyone else's week shaping up so far?

Well glad the prepping at the school is going pretty good for the most part. It is easier to be able to do things your own way then follow someoneelse's that is not there. Good luck with your book launch on saturday I hope it turns out well.

@Blondie2222 I apologize for not getting back to you earlier. The event went from 11am to 2pm EDT. You can still visit the event site if you want to see what sort of activities there were. I may be posting some apres-event questions people can answer to win prizes as I have a couple extra items I can give away.

I'm sure the school has a curriculum guide for you. Will you be teaching all subjects? Common Core? When does school officially begin? I'm sure it will be a much more pleasant atmosphere compared to your last school.
Best of luck on your book launch!

Our neighbor's moved and gave us a lot of costly stuff. In return, we've been cleaning out their apartment.

@DWDavis - Oh, believe me, they left quite a mess. We probably found ten bucks in change alone.

Well, I went out and did the yardwork, walked the dog, worked a bit on my cross stitch and another little bit on a pen pal letter. Going slowly, but getting things done--and before lunch, too.

Actually I have two books to read. One is a "kids" book on The Lost Colony I'm previewing in order to decide if I want to buy a class set and the other is a book on how to assess student writing the Diocese had adopted so that all grades will be taking the same approach at all schools across the Diocese.
