Jupiter, Flying Balloon Circus Horse

I found this picture of a circus horse named Jupiter who flys on a platform with a hot air balloon while fireworks shoot around it. I can not imagine a horse being calm enough to handle so much noise! Who ever even thought up these tricks and then got the horse to go along with it? I had horses in the past and none of them would have been able to handle fireworks OR going up in the air on a platform. I almost wish I had been alive back then to see the act.

I´d say it is cruelty to the poor animal as well as several circus acts with animals.

Yes, some of those circuses treated their animals very poorly.

@horsesrule I once saw, many years ago, an attraction in Las Vegas at the Circus Circus casino where they had 2 animals in a ring fighting, gloves and all. I remember one of them was a kangaroo. It was pitiful, but many people laughed.

@marguicha I don't think I would have liked to see that show. It sounds more sad than funny. :-(
