Why there is no signature on few paintings

As few of my mylot friends know that I am an artist and I teach art online and offline too.
I have made an art gallery at my home as it is more economical to me than keeping them in professional galleries.
One of my art students is very curious and want to know why few of my paintings don't have my signature on them.
Actually the reason is that when I was learning an ancient art form, I saw some designs and painted them in my style, as it is not completely my own imagination so I don't write my name on them.
She is much inspired by me and said that she will also follow this rule, I find it sweet.
What do you think about it?

Yes, even in ancient times many artists wanted to be anonymous apart from the other reason you mentioned. They wanted their works to be popular in the world but not their names. This greatly enhanced the quality of the works they did, because they painted for people and not for themselves. And also because of the mystery it created among the admirers of the arts, the works were more appreciated. Even in poetry and prose, for example, many works have been written by anonymous personalities; they didn't even use a pen name. I guess, they liked it that way. (*_*)/"!

Okay, thanks for this information, I didn't know about it in so much detail, that's really great intention to create for people not for fame.

@Bodyandbrain yeah, it is, indeed. Even now many artists follow this golden rule. They want their works to be their fame and not their names.

@Bodyandbrain I had trouble persuading my son even on original work for a long time. Now he has a distinctive signature.

Yes it is really a phase we artists have to go through as we should not write our names on the paintings which are not our own idea and imagination,( I mean while learning we may try to copy our teacher or other artists work and style)
Once we stabilise our own style, we can give it our names.

@Jackalyn I can understand, even I took time to do it.
It is so good that he is out of that phase now.

That's a really nice painting. I would so love to visit your art gallery. I know that some painters prefer to remain anonymous and there is nothing bad in it. I am sure you must have felt so pleased to see this student impressed by your works.

@Bodyandbrain You are right about this. Just some time back I saw a painting of Pablo Picasso being sold at a very low price, They just made a copy of his painting and framed it. That's not right

Thanks dear, you are most welcome to visit my gallery.
Being anonymous can be a choice but we should write our names on our own creations as it is the matter of copyright, there are many people who just copy the original art piece and sell on lower prices, which is injustice with the real artist.
I am very pleased to see her responses, she is a very brilliant child.

@Nawsheen it happens dear and it is very bad of the people who do this, very cheap act, unfortunately they find customers for their duplicate piece.

That is a great and selfless gesture not to include your signature as you feel that this painting is not completely yours or it is more of an inspired painting and not a pure original painting...
The eyes of this painting are very significant and and the overall picture is beautiful and amazing.
Nice to be interacting with an artiste like you...

Thanks, we should be honest in our approach to certain things.
Thanks for liking the painting. If you see it carefully, there are two faces of elephants.
Thanks again and it is more nice to interact with an engineer like you

No dear, you can consider it as a rule or manner we artists should follow, although I have given them my style and additional touch, I can't say it is all my creation.
