Appreciation Dinner

It was a wonderful evening of really good food and association, and my daughter and I really enjoyed seeing some old friends that we hadn’t seen for a while. We had root beer pulled pork, chicken and some delicious green beans, cole slaw, mac and cheese. It was a buffet and there was plenty for everyone to have seconds. We also had some really good cupcakes and ice cream for dessert. One person that was there is over 90 years old and I have known her for at least 50 years. She was always volunteering back then. I had seen her a couple years ago, but it was nice to see her again and know that she is still getting along fairly well. All told there were probably about 100 people there and the ones who prepared the food and set up the dining area did a wonderful job. Everything looked so nice and tasted so good. After dinner we went into the auditorium and were delighted to see some photos and videos that had been taken over the last several years, showing the volunteers and all that had been accomplished. It brought back a lot of good memories and there were lots of laughs and applause from those who were there. My daughter took some photos with her cell phone. She’s supposed to send them to me and MAYBE I can post one or two of them. I will have to get my grandson to show me how to do that. It’s almost 2 AM and I’m finally headed for bed.
