Outcome of today’s meeting at Christie hospital

As I mentioned in an earlier post today, this was a meeting with the consultant to receive an update on the progress of my chemotherapy so far. I feel that the chemotherapy has made a difference and therefore expected a good appraisal. I began with a blood test, followed by an X-ray in order to provide some necessary data for the consultant. The outcome was far better than I had expected. Apparently the original chest X-ray a few weeks ago showed a large dark region due to a myriad of enlarged tumours. According to the Doctor this area has quite noticeably reduced, thus showing that the chemotherapy is having a good effect on the tumours. This has really brightened up my day and I look forward to my next progress report in about 3 weeks.

Pessimistic like you are, the news could be only far better than expected.

I believe that I am more realistic than pessimistic, but our are perfectly right about how wonderful the news was.

I am looking forward to the next chemotherapy session. Maybe in time my voice problem will be solved if the tumours shrink enough.

@LadyDuck If my voice issue is solved then I will be able to talk nonsense instead of just writing it.

@Asylum Your voice problem should be solved, let's hope the tumors will continue to shrink at a fast speed.

Oh this is wonderful news and you can now proceed further into treatment that will hopefully clear the tumors. It is amazing the progress they have made with treatment of cancer. I am sure you are over the moon now with this good news, as am I.

@Asylum I am so glad things are looking up. It is very surprising what they can now do. Onward and upward.

Super that has made my day! I am sure everyone has been keeping fingers crossed for you! One thing I read about recently advises keeping away from sugar! Whether there is any substance in this I can't say but it seems plausible!

I may enquire about that on my next visit. It does seem odd because sugar constitutes a decent intake.

@garymarsh6 That is certainly true because excessive sugar can cause many problems.

@Asylum You need sugar to provide energy. Some researchers say it is a myth whilst others say cutting down can be of help. I guess as is always the case moderation seems to be the order of the day!

Yes I agree. The next assessment may not show as significant an improvement, but since I am heading in the right direction any further progress will improve the overall scenario.

@Asylum Ha, I wonder if I wrote that on my smartphone. I didn't notice I'd typed rumors and not tumors which is what I meant to type. I wish they were just rumors as well, maybe one day it will be like a dream or rumor once they are shrunk to oblivion with the chemo.
