Bad omen!

I am not sure this is an actual thing, but I read it somewhere on the internet and the internet should not always be trusted, but my mom laughed about it. We went to the mall on Saturday and my mom got herself a chicken bowl with chopsticks. (I got a sabrro's pizza if you are interested). and as she tried to get her chopsticks, they broke at the top. I heard somewhere that, that it is a bad omen. And my mom answers with, "oh great!' because who wants to have bad luck as they are out and about? Well, it was actually a pretty wonderful day, nothing bad at all happened to her. She even found a dime! i am pretty sure my mother is the opposite of everything. Something negative is supposed to happen, but to her it is positive and turns out good. Which is great, my mom needs more good things to happen to her!

That is great. To have positive things happen instead of negative.

Why should broken chop sticks be a bad omen? Who believes in omens in the 21st century? If a black cat crosses my path, I lure it to come near and stroke it.

@DesirousDreamer I have been to the Superstitions. My dad looked for gold there when I was a kid. Never found any, of course.

The power of the dime nixed out any bad vibes from the broken chopsticks. Found dimes come from heaven, so someone was watching out for her. Enjoy your mom. Some day she may not be there.

Silly superstition is all that is. Some say spilling or tossing salt is bad luck but you use salt to cleanse an area of bad in the home.
