Favorite "Night" Songs #4 - "You Shook Me all Night Long"

Being the night owl that I am, I figured I'd celebrate the night with a series of songs with "night" in the title. Hence, my Favorite "Night" Songs countdown. We are at #4: "You Shook Me all Night Long" by Australia's legendary heavy metal band, AC/DC. Seriously, after vocalist Bon Scott died in 1980, did anybody really expect AC/DC to come back with a classic album (Back in Black,) let alone a Top 40 single? "You Shook Me all Night Long" was that hit, reaching #35 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also hit the Top 40 in five other countries, including #5 in France, and #8 in Australia. And why not? This thing rocks, and rocks hard (and yet, it's a very radio-friendly tune.) Raspy-voiced Brian Johnson proved to be an excellent replacement for Scott, and the band was as heavy and energetic as ever. As many times as I heard this on the radio in 1981, I'm actually surprised that the song didn't chart higher. But what can you do? I've linked a very energetic live version that is just killer. Hope you enjoy it! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I had seen AC/DC more times than any other band and before Bonn passed away. Love this one too Scott.

@TiarasOceanView - No, but my friend saw Metallica with Cliff. It was when they were still up and coming. They played a small music venue here in Colorado Springs.

For night driving the start of 'Let me Put My Love into You' is cosmically brilliant!

@teamfreak16 Yep its counterintuitive, the slow build and the bass make you want to speed up into a blur. Like alloys I guess.

I haven't seen AC/DC but I've always liked their music. I still hear it on The River.

Although for some ridiculously fast motorcycle (or bicycle in my case as fast as I can go :) ) 'Leather Rebel' by the Priest is great.

That would work. I had "Take Me Away" by Blue Oyster Cult in my head as I rode my mountain bike today. That's a good one too.

Yeah, I like this song. I've heard it a blue billion times, but it's still one to sing along to. Still prefer Bon-era AC/DC, though (speaking of which, I heard "The Jack" in Chuy's the other day!!).

I'm so over this song. I've heard it a bazillion times at Sweet 16 parties, Homecomings, Proms, weddings. I just can't take it any more.

What a great band. Not sure about Axl Rose as vocalist, though.
