A kiss from me to you...

I hardly get any kisses from my boy anymore. He's a teenager now and doesn't even want to be seen with me anymore.
Sometimes I get jealous of the moms whose teenage sons hold their hands while they're walking. I really wish my son would do the same.
He's not as clingy as he used to when he was still a kid. I have to tell him to kiss me good night, I sometimes even have to beg.
One time when we were outside, I told him to kiss me goodbye and he just blew me a kiss! *sigh
If I had a daughter, would she be just like him?

This happens as sons grow it seems at least in my case, sometimes my grown son will just hug me, but it is never the same as when he was much younger. I know what you mean Toni.

Deborah mentioned that that their only son became sweet again when he became an adult. I wish the same for mine.

Debbie told me that they will always go back to being sweet when they become an adult.
I probably have to wait till then.

@toniganzon yes because they would mature and realized how hard it is to be adult.

@toniganzon yes and in the hoping that your being sweet to him can change his mind and will possibly kiss you with love of a son to his mother.

My two sons (which are grown) are so opposite of kisses. My oldest son has and still does gives me a kiss good-bye. My youngest quit giving me a good-bye kiss years ago. Oh well, can't make him do it. I wonder how things would be like if I had had a girl. Which brother would she take after.

@toniganzon That is great on your part but sad on theirs. Maybe some day they will wake up and see what they missed out on.

@velvet53 They actually regretted that already. Our parents passed away too early and at the same time.

I have two brothers and two sisters but I was the only one who really showed my sweetness to my parents.

@toniganzon My kids would have run away and never come home if I suggested a kiss when they were teens - boys and girls both!!

I can imagine. Thankfully my son doesn't run away and still gives me kisses in private, but not until I beg.

Yeah, most teenagers think they are too cool for their parents. I remember feeling the same way when I was a teen myself. Pretty normal.

Yeah, it's just something that I had hoped won't happen to my son and me.

I used to be embarrassed when mom is around that went through until college. I guess my desire to be independent causes me frustration. As I grow up I realize how important Mom is, and how hard it would be with out her. So, sometimes I would kiss her in the forehead.
Your son will realize how important you are, I hope you don't get too old when he does. He will have that feeling of loneliness even if he has wife and kids if you are gone..

Yeah most teenage boys probably think like that, but I have seen some that aren't. I have even seen one teenage boy kissing and hugging his mom before going to school and he was with his girlfriend.

@toniganzon Those lovely teenagers are the exception, I remember that also my brother did not want to be seen kissing my Mom, now that he is a mature man, he does.

She might not.. Not every kid wants to do those things once they hit like 10, never mind teens. Some dont once they even hit 6, cuz friends may laugh if they find out. Some just dont like it in general. I wouldn't force it. Kids grow up

My son was clingy until he was 10. He was still even sleeping with me until then coz he couldn't sleep alone in his room.
I was different when I was a teenager. I always wanted to be with my parents.

@Courtlynn Exactly that's why I said i'm jealous of those mothers whose teenage boys are still close to them.

In public i guess, but i have seen other teenage boys that are not ashamed to do that in front of their friends.
