Sleeping question

Okay so quick question for the mommies on little mans sleeping.. I'm beginning to think that the four-month regression is a real thing because he's up every 2 to 3 hours when he was sleeping at least 7 hours through the night. Did any of you go through this with your little ones?
A little background on him real fast. He was a preemie and in the NICU for almost a month and they had him on a 3-hour schedule. Got him home, he was still on that schedule for quite some time. Eventually he got to where he was sleeping 3 to 5 hours, and then finally went to 7 hours. And now he's back to every 2 to 3 hours. And sometimes it takes me an hour or two to get him back to sleep just depends on the night. Yet sometimes he'll sleep for 4 or 5 hours straight and then he's up a bunch after that.
Yet I'm sitting here thinking this could be normal, but my daughter slept through the night so early this is just different. So any suggestions would be greatly welcomed. :) And I would love to hear what all of you went through! :)

My kids were all different when it came to sleeping through the night. My 3 older children finally slept through the night at around 5 months old. My 16 month old did not sleep through the night until he was literally 8 months old! My 5 month old has slept through the night since he was 2 months old.
I think it just depends on the little one. I hope you get some sleep soon!

My husband could not stand to hear our daughter cry so every time she cried he went and picked her up. It drove me crazy. He couldn't stand the crying and I told him he needed to let her cry and she would go to sleep. He finally believed me and she slept much better. And so did we. Don't know if that's your problem... but it was mine...
