A little something about me

Hi everyone. I want to share something about me and I hope to make new friends here. I started here in mylot on August 1 and so far I am enjoying my stay here as I love sharing my thoughts and discussions.
I am a Filipino-Chinese living in Australia. I am fluent in Tagalog, English, Fookien and basic Mandarin. I recently got married on January this year. I have an 11yr old son from my previous marriage.
I am a stay at home housewife at the moment. I am looking for a homebased job.
Any questions, just ask. I'll be happy to answer it. :)

Yeh I speak Fookien (Chinese) with my mum and spoke Filipino and English when I was in the Philippines :)

Fookien and Mandarin are Chinese languages, please correct me if Im wrong. If so, what's the difference between the two?
I am currently learning Chinese and I think Im practicing Mandarin? How do you distinguish one from the other?

@angelmels Words like "Ni jiao shenme?" It's Mandarin right? I based it in your "wo ai ni"

@renicemae what does that mean? Are u asking the name? Hard to say. Can you give another example?

Yes both are Chinese languages. The writings are the same but just how you read it are different. Example you say i love you in mandarin as wo ay ni, in fookien you say gwa ay di. Mandarin is more used than Fookien. What is the word you know in Mandarin so I can tell you if that is Mandarin or Fookien.

@poehere I am also not fluent in Mandarin, just the basic. The writings in Fookien and Mandarin are the same, just different when reading it
