I had to wake up early for work. Good Morning my friends! My sister asked me, "Can you forgive and forget?" I said "Forgive? Yes ofcourse but forget? I need to think about it" What do you guys think, Can you Forgive and Forget?

Earlier I was believer of Forgive and Forget philosophy, but multiple back stabbing incidents has changed me, dont forget and dont forgive. just avoid things to happen again if you are not in a condition to takeback. moving on happens automatically

I'm sorry you felt that way. I can't say I understand because I did not had the same experience but I know it's tough. Time and experience give us lessons we need and I admire your honesty.

@spaceseed Thanks! You must be very strong to handle it. I may not be, do you still feel that probably someday you may forgive them?

That depends on many factors, easy to forgive but never easy to forgot

@Paocz28 Yes, I too had very bad experiences where I think that forgiving also was bad on my part, but letting that incident go is also important for our own self

@vsai2008 I agree, I feel that most of us if not all would always forgive as time comes but forgetting is such a difficult thing.

We share the same thought. Do you had an experience that made you think that way?

I think so too. I thought I was just harsh to say that.

I don't know about that...Usually just moved on, then learn to forgive as time goes by. But forget? Nope we learn from experience that shouldn't happen again. Most of the time, not forgiving can just put a bucket of pain inside.

I think my answer would be in affirmative, yes I can forgive someone who hurt me and I can forget that thing though I cannot forget that someone that I used to love.
