My New York City trip - Part 1

New York City!

Hey everyone. So I jotted down in a little journal, a bit about my 4 day journey to NYC this past weekend. It was more like 2 days in New York, though, because there was one day travelling there on a bus, and one day back. Anyways, I am talking about the trip in two parts, and will try to skip over some of the boring stuff I mentioned, condense it a little bit, hope you all enjoy my story! So, the first day, it started with me waking up at at a brisk 5AM (only running off of 2 hours of sleep), and taking the 10 or so hour bus ride to NYC. By the way, we had a great tour guide and bus driver! Besides that, not much else, besides getting to the hotel in New Jersey, checking out the restaurant in the hotel, and the pool, pretty uneventful day, really! The next day, well much more eventful, I must say! After breakfast, we boarded the bus, and a local tour guide came aboard the bus, for a few hours or so, to join the group. We got to see things, such as: Central Park, the Flat Iron building, Macy's, Columbus Circle, and much much more. As well, we stopped at Grand Central Terminal for lunch around Noon. At 3PM, we were done the tour with the local tour guide. At this point, we had free time to ourselves. This is when me and my mom met up with a good friend of mine that I had known online for quite some time, maybe 8 or 9 years now. So we met up, and ended up taking the subway together to a Mexican restaurant, where we had some really good food and drinks there, pretty expensive though, but oh well . After we were done eating, we decided to go up the Empire State Building. It was amazing!! We had to leave right after this, to go back to the tour bus, to return to our hotel (as part of our tour group deal.. we could have stayed later if we wanted though).

Yes, the Empire State building is very impressive and a good choice to see. Things are usually expensive in NYC.

Did you get to go to the top of the empire state building? When I was there they had hit blocked off and were working on it or something. Sounds like a fun trip.

@mawdest I hear you, more of the point you can say was at the top I guess. The view we saw was quite impressive and think you are right going to the top is probably way over rated.

@crossbones27 Yes exactly! Sometimes I have troubles trying to explain things Well, I'm glad you enjoyed what you saw! It truthfully was, I know it was quite a few more floors up, but it didn't seem to really make much of a difference, that and you were also looking through glass..

Yes! But as weird as this sounds, personally, myself, my mom, and my friend, didn't think the very top of the building was that much better than whatever the next highest point of the building was (I'm having memory problems right now, but we were really high up as well before, and I can't remember what level/floor it was, but that was actually better than the very top of the building to be honest in my opinion). I don't know it's kind of hard for me to explain really, haha, that's just how I will leave it though, let's just say, I don't believe you were really missing out on anything!

It sounds like you had a great time. New York City is so big and has so much to do it is impossible to see the whole town in a week much less a few days. At least you will have an idea what you want to see the next time you go there.
