Windy Day on Earth Today -
I was looking at a conventional website map of the weather this morning. Featured in the reporting and the mapping was a "new" tropical storm that was about to play "hurricane" getting ready to attack the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico.
There were some viewer comments printed below the map of this new hurricane. One of the comments mentioned the "URL" (website address) that the comment writer declared to be a really fine map of the current winds blowing all around the surface of the earth - east, west, north, and south - that is, everywhere.
"Well. thought I, "I might just as well take a look at that. Quite an accomplishment if, indeed, whoever attempted to map out the winds over the entire earth actually succeeded in doing it."
I dialed up the link on my computer. ( https://earth.nullschool.net ) and up popped the image of our very own earth, plus all of the winds, here, there, and everywhere. The new hurricane winds were right there where they were supposed to be.
Note: At first attempt, my screen carried the message - "Server Down" but after I clicked on the screen the website responded with the proper image.
You might want to write that link down for your own future reference. It is a good link and most interesting, too. I believe that the "nullschool" website is in Japan, but the captions were all in English.

Now Gus this is impossible. I still can't figure out how you knew we had strong wind conditions here on our islands for the past few days. Yesterday, I was working in the organic garden and the winds were so strong. I was trying to rake up the rocks, but it seemed the wind had other ideas for me. Each time I tried to move my rake backwards it threw it forward. I couldn't make it stay on the ground. Plus, I had other problems as well. The wind decided to pick me up off the ground. I finally had to anchor myself down with rocks in my pockets.
I had a hard time moving around the garden it felt like I was dragging 2 tons of rocks along with me. Finally feeling dusted out and no way to keep the crap out of my eyes I decided to go home. However, I forgot to take the rocks out of my pockets when I had to cross the river. On the way down the rocks seemed to go forward and I had a tumble down to the rocky bottom. Lucky for me the eels that lived there had decided to take a swim. So this left heir small wading pool empty for me to land in. After removing the rocks from my soggy shots I was able to cross the river bed. On my way up the other side the wind decided to blow so hard I lost my footing and slid back down to the river.
Whoo, now I am in my car and the wind was still coming after me yesterday. I finally make the little car of mine roll down the hill and got it parked in my yard.
I am so surprised that you knew about me and the wind yesterday. It was so nice of you to tell others about this.

@poehere - Ms Ann - Looking at the screen of the program, "Earth.Nullschool.Net" right now, I can see that the winds around your islands are fairly calm, whereas elsewhere in the Pacific and Antarctic Oceans, there are some areas with winds up into the 80,km/hr. Glad you did not get blown away yesterday. -Gus-

@Ceerios Yes the winds have calmed down now because it blew in the rain. The weather is a bit chilly today for my taste. I am sitting here in pants and a long sleeve tee shirt. This is not my normal dress attire. I normally wear tank tops and shorts. However, some things don't change and I am still barefooted.

@ridingbet - Ms Ingrid - In my way of seeing things, yes, that is how our world looks when blown on by the wind. Otherwise, ( for most other viewers ) the world does not look that way at all - not ever. -Gus-
