Miracle Noodles Angel Hair Review

These angel hair "pasta" noodles contain no carbohydrates, no calories, no gluten, no cholesterol, no soy, and they are vegan. They are shirataki pasta which is made us mostly of konjac yam. According to Wikipedia, they consist mostly of "water and glucomannan, a water-soluble dietary fiber, they are very low in digestible carbohydrates and calories, and have little flavor of their own". These Miracle Angel Hair Noodles are very thin as you would expect from "angel hair". You need to drain them and rinse them in a colander, cook them for a couple of minutes in highly-flavored water (think chicken or beef stock), and then drain them again of course before serving. I cooked mine tonight in beef broth as I was serving them with pan-seared skirt steak. They were an okay side to my dinner of skirt steak and sugar snap peas. The flavor that I produced was fine but they were a but too gelatinous because I couldn't easily bite down on them and have the noodles just separate. I wouldn't buy the angel hair version of Miracle Noodles again.

They look very slimy! Haha they seem interesting, but don't know if I would buy them.

They aren't bad. I've had the "rice" version and it was fine. I also have a fettuccine version to try. I think the angel hair was just too thin.

@NJChicaa We had prepackaged noodles with the gelatin before, such an odd texture, but yes they are not bad just different.

oh it is a delicious cut of meat. I believe it comes from the belly and used to be a cheap, throwaway cut. It has caught on fire in the US and now went from being a garbage cut to now commanding $11.99/lb.

@NJChicaa Everything costs more now. When I was a kid you'd be able to get "soup bones" for free. Then they went for 5ยข each. Don't know what they go for now, or even if you can get them.

Their "rice" is much better for a no-carb alternative to rice or pasta.

Omg, these are great noodles for your Vietnamese pho dishes, (which I have got to try someday, my sister swears by this dish) and also the rice paper spring rolls!
