My Exprience in taking Online Short courses

August 8, 2017 7:18pm CST
After getting my professional degree. there's still a part of me that wanting to learn new things. But i also need to work to sustain myself. I know there's a lot of seminars available out there but isn't it Online study sounds appealing? No travel required and you can study at the comfort of your own home. So i tried to enroll at Coursera last June and finished 2 online courses. I Could say that Online study is as effective as traditional way of learning. However, it lacks Hands-on experience so if you want to study that requires Hands-on training, Traditional training is still the best way to go. If you just wanted to have an added language, it is the most convenient way to go. Does any of you tried Online short Courses? Feel free to share your thoughts! :)

I went to Alison courses to relearn some things did not know in something and that helped, but, to learn Excel is not my cup of tea.

@chennorevillo The one I did was a refresher course for learning some things in Photoshop I did not know or could not figure out how to do on my own. I am not sure I want to take others. I am actually looking for ways to make extra money and My Lot and Timebucks are two and then will see about other things.

I have done online courses, I liked being able to work at my own pace...which was usually several steps ahead of the curriculum. I would do more, but it is very expensive.

If you find it expensive, there are some Free short courses you can give a try. I've tried it. And it is effective as the paid one. The only difference is the certificate.

Tried this as well and took courses offered at Coursera. I agree with what you wrote that it lacks actual hand-on training for you to test if you had learned anything.

How did you like the courses? I wish there were websites online where we could learn and take quizzes and earn. Do you know of any? How did you like the quizzes on Coursera?

I like it as it actually provide good information and you will learn a lot after you finish the course. About the quizzes, Its Just okay. I didn't hate nor like it. Unfortunately, i didn't know any legit sites that you can earn while learning.

My eldest daughter took a free course at Coursera about ancient Egypt. She placed the link for me to check, but I havenĀ“t done it yet.
