My friend, after a catastrophic heartbreak, is getting back into the dating scene. I’m actually excited for her but no pressure at all. She is starting to open up her heart and that’s what matters. Though I can’t help but reminisce the time when I used to date. It was fun and dating (I think) has a few perks. No two dates were ever alike yet I always paid attention to one particular thing. If he talked down about his friends or anybody else, it certainly was a no for me.
How about you? When you went on a date for the first time, what did you pay the most attention to? (Though I’d also want to ask those who are dating and those who have plans to go on a date.)

Well, my first date was when I was 16. I was still studying in the seminary and it was summer vacation. I was introduced by a friend to a pretty lady, also a 16-year-old. I invited her to see a movie with me. She agreed (without thinking) coz who would say no to a goodlooking, saintly seminarian (ahem). So, with not much ado, we ended up in the balcony of our one and only moviehouse in our town. Anyway, our first date was just eating peanuts and hopia, drinking pop, giggling, and nothing more exciting than those. . . I wanted to kiss her but I got butterflies. . .

When I go on a first date with someone I always pay attention to their body language. You can tell right away if they are hiding something, if they are nervous, or if they are into you. I also pay attention to their manners. You can learn a lot about someone just from their body language and actions.

I first look at their hands .. If their hands are same size or smaller than mine, we are definitely not compatible ..

Your criteria for judging is best! You can tell what kind of a person he is.

My husband says he was looking for a certain je ne sais quoi.
After he said it I realized that's exactly what I was trying to express. I kept trying to remember what, exactly, I was looking for on our first date, but I couldn't name "it".

I am married, but when I dated (years back) if he spoke badly about others, this was probably an arrogant man. They are harsh individuals, to say the least.

Dating wasn't around in the small town where I grew up...It's a culture thing I guess.
Scenario must have changed now.
