Frankly, I don't know much about it as I don't go shopping so much when I have a travel. This time my aunt who comes from Hong Kong went to Japan with us. Her son asked her to buy cigarettes in the duty free store in Tokyo airport because the price will be cheaper than buying them in Hong Kong. Then my aunt bought three cartons of cigarettes since we have three adults and she thought we had three quotas. Then the seller told her only 19 cigarettes are allowed to enter Hong Kong. Since his English was not very good, so my aunt took out one cigarette from each pack. Later she asked the attendant the rules and then she finally understood that only 19 cigarettes in one pack were allowed to Hong Kong. So when we were landed, she threw out those cigarettes and just kept three packs Of course the checkign rate is low but she dares not to take a risk as the punishment is serious.

It is NOT only Hong Kong or Japan. It is like that anywhere you go there are maximum quantity of ANY item allowed for personal use or gifts when entering another country. Any excess is considered COMMERCIAL and you have to pay taxes & duties for it. Even cash you need to declare it at Customs if more than $10k (P400k) in the Philippines.
Many people ask how much cash they can bring into the Philippines.  There actually is no limit at all. You can carry all the cash you want as long as you declare anything over US $10000.  There is no tax and nobody will take the money away from you (unless

I think some duty free products will be charged some tax when I go back my country? So I still need to be careful to it.

@youless I would never want to get it wrong with customs officials. They could get you banned from a country for years or even imprisoned. They have huge powers.

It is not particularly duty free products but ANY item have maximum quantity allowed for personal use or it can fall under COMMERCIAL USE which should be charged for taxes & duties if you enter another country even in the Philippines.
