I have got to start putting a little money away for Christmas so I have decided that I am going to start saving my dimes in a special jar. I seem to get a lot of dimes so it should add up fairly quick.
I know, a dime isn't much but it is better than nothing. I wish I had started this at the beginning of the year. Beings the banks do not have a change counter anymore I will have to stop in and get some coin rollers. That works for me cause I have to go there today.
So starting today the special jar will be put out and when I see someone with dimes I will shout out, "I want those dimes." I will need to make sure that I have some other change with me to buy them.

When burglars came to my house, they not stole the money from my beautiful piggy banks, but they also took the piggs I had brought them from my trips around the world. I now think that I´ll just save my money in the Bank. I could open a special vacation´s account and save some money every month.

@velvet53 That theft cost me a lot. I lost money, all my jewelry and a lot of important things for me.

@marguicha Did they ever find out who did it? I am so sorry for your loss. I would keep everything in safes from now on.

When I lived and worked in my hometown NYC both my mom and me would save up quarters. Between the two of us we had quite a lot. Then we would take them to the bank and go out shopping for the money we had saved.

@velvet53 This is a great idea, good for you! My husband started saving coins and quite often, it became our gas money for the week!:)

@velvet53 I think Jay's focus was mainly on quarters and dimes, which really added up fast!

@rebelann It does. I am giving the older of the three at my youngest sons house money so they can buy a little something. It won't be much though. They know that I won't do what their other grandmother does and spend tons of money on them.

Small change does add up. I often collect them and after awhile roll and take to the bank.

Given time, dimes will grow into dollars.
