Today I am finally getting my son to the dentist. When I was married, I kept track of my son's appointments and mine. After the divorce, I still did to some degree for my son but it got to be less after his dad and I started having relationships and my visitations would vary. We sometimes went to his appointments together but do not do that anymore. It would also depend on my work schedule which has varied too. My son's dental appointment had to be rescheduled a couple times and his dad and I lost track of him going every 6 months with everything going on. I am glad he will be going and I hope that it will go well. Have others experienced this?

@melindataylor22 I think all kids have to do more brushing and flossing. My son had gaps between his teeth, but still he needs to clean them better.

@much2say I think that is true. They also gave him a timer with the sand going down that is for 2 minutes. I do not know how long I brush for but I know I take more time than he does and that is probably true for most kids.

@much2say Yes, our finances have to be stretched like crazy, or else they wouldn't reach!:(

We have pretty good dental coverage and both my husband and I neglect to see our dentist, regularly!:(

I went through that when I was in my 20's and especially after I got sick because I am unable to open my mouth all the way. But I got my act together and have done better in my 30's. I got my cavities filled and get my cleanings every 6 months. I work with student dentists who work with my limitations the best they can.

@kobesbuddy It is so interesting how things change. I am glad that your teeth are reasonable after all that. It is a blessing for sure.

@melindataylor22 Growing up, we had little to no dental care at all. Only if we had a throbbing toothache, then it was pulled out. Now, my teeth are so,so, but I'm also 65 yrs old, so having my own teeth, I'm very blessed!:)
