Please Feed Their Hippo - When I awakened this morning, the temperature outside was just plain h-o-t, and my poor old lungs were stuffed with air pollution from the atmosphere outside of the house. Somebody here was obviously tuned into the TV news about the latest bellicosities from our very own "HippoPotus" whom we now might want to refer to as "nuestro presidente" ( our president ). Our big guy with the over-used jaw has now started talking about using his military options as to the country of Venezuela. That is in addition to his promising such things in regard to the goofy little land of North Korea. Now, I do not want any of my Mill Otter ( MyLotter ) friends to come to the idea that I have turned into some sort of peacenik in my old age, but, give me a break, Nuestro Presidente. Please don't be picking on destitute Venezuela. Send a Care Package, lots of bread, or a big shipment of toilet paper - not Marines or Boy Scout Troops. They have their own "HippoPotus" ( su Presidente - their president ) in Venezuela. That is a big enough problem for any country. Marines and Boy Scouts are just plain overkill. Bread and Spam - not Marines and bombs. OK? Image: Bread - Not Bullets - Pixabay.com

When will it end? It seems that is all we hear about is someone not happy with someone so they want to send them a bomb and not a care package.

@poehere - Ms Ann - One of the big regrets that I have had in my lifetime is the absence of genuine peace and good will by all to all. It really begins to look like I will never see that. -Gus-

@Ceerios Look back in history and this has never happened. Wishful thinking on your part.

@poehere - Ms Ann - About the only instance of "international" good will toward others that I can think of at this moment is the "First Thanksgiving" celebration of the Dutch Pilgrim immigrants into North America instituted by the native Indians. They welcomed the newcomers, fed them, taught them many ways to survive in the "new land" and befriended the settlers. As I understand it, no one asked the Indians to do these things -Gus-.
