I phone without any doubt. Because that iOS is specifically designed for it's hardware. While android is a generic OS that runs on different hardware. So iphone is undoubtedly better in performance. But then it depends on your budget and uses, which one to buy.

Hi @YrNemo and @JeeyanDee, I apologize for taking so long to show up here... (I am on staycation so haven't been on myLot very much for the last week. I still have one week to go, too!) I wrote a response to you, Siren, when I got onto this discussion. I hope it helps you.

I used to be a solid iPhone fan until the Samsung Note 3 came out. From then on, I switched to Samsung and never looked back. I've since upgraded and I think there are several pros and cons for each. The main reason I switched to samsung is the battery life and the quality of the pictures I got. I know iPhone has upgraded that but I still find the Samsung cameras better (that is if we're talking about both phones having the same megapixels.) iPhone can also be a pain especially if you forget your icloud password, your phone is generally useless if you get that issue... unless you fork out lots of money to have someone to do a bypass. If you have a kid who like to use the phone, be careful you don't get locked out. I remember being locked out from my iPhone for half a day because my daughter tried putting in the wrong password. You also can't send pictures via bluetooth to other android phones. If you are to get an iPhone, try to find ones that aren't brand new. They depreciate really fast so it really isn't worth spending 50,000 pesos for a phone and then when you try to sell it after a few months, you can only get at the most 1/4 of the original price. Android phones also have a lot of free apps but when you check them on your iPhone, you're required to pay. So it's really a matter of preference. I'd go with a phone that is easy to use.

@JeeyanDee Shop around and get a feel of how the phones fit in your hands. You'll be able to make up your mind then. Goodluck!

Hmmm... Let me try to explain this to you the way I learned it. I assume you are not a novice when it comes to a smart phone, right? Which system have you owned before? (My first smart phone was a Samsung Galaxy SIII. So, I owned an Android phone first.) I have been selling cell phones (both contract and pre-paid) plus the services for all the major companies in my area for not quite 10 years now. The very first thing I was told by the main carriers was that it didn't really matter which carrier I sold to someone, as long as I was careful never to move them from an iPhone to an Android or vice versa. (Moving someone from an Android to an iPhone (or the opposite) is the fastest way to have an unhappy customer on my hands!) People do NOT like change! If you have never experimented with an iPhone after learning to use an Android phone, or vice versa, you may not believe the differences in the programming! (I've learned both those systems as well as a couple of others and I still don't like to mess with an iPhone. I can't find things a customer wants as fast as they want me to find it, nor will I just throw open an iPhone's programming like I will an Android's programming. I know I can fix the Android if the customer screws it up, but I might be able to fix the iPhone and I might not be able to fix it, too. I have never been one to take large risks! Depending on the manufacturer of the device, you may get a great phone (mechanically speaking) and you might not. If I have a choice of manufacturers, I will choose a Samsung over an iPhone, every time. It is true that an iPhone will usually last longer than the Android models, but part of that is because of the differences in price between the O/S, too. Someone who pays $800 for their phone will take much better care of that phone, regardless of O/S than a person who paid $49 for their phone. (That is just common sense!) Good luck choosing your new phone!

@JeeyanDee That's how a lot of folks are, Siren. They either have two phones like that or they alternate buying an iPhone with an Android. (I understand there are certain features that make one more attractive than the other, but I prefer to stick to the Android O/S. It's easier when I switch to a new handset if I don't have to remember a system I haven't used in quite a while.)

@DaddyEvil I guess you have a point there. You have made me realize a lot of things and consider certain points when choosing between the two. I never expected a comment as lengthy and as detailed as yours. Hahaha. So thank you very much for taking time to answer my query.

The problem is I use both android and iphone but seem to not be able to really weigh which os fits me the most. Android is best when doing certain things, same way in iphone. I find them so different that I can't seem to really compare

@JeeyanDee I have a flip phone, no gimmicks. It could have, but the plan I have doesn't come with it. I only talk on it, and that's all I need. It also has text, but I try not to do that on this kind of phone.

iPhone for security purposes. There are so many scam/fake Android applications. I have both. I access PayPal and emails I use for money related transactions on my iPhone and only use my android for playing games and testing apps. I am afraid to access my PayPal, PayPal email and other accounts on android.

The problem with iphone is the price, if you can do with that the next problem is it keeps changing models making the older ones unsupported, if your concerned with resale price dont buy iphone, resale price goes down so fast everytime a new model comes out. Technology wise I think it is superior although you could get a comparable high end android for half the price. Concerned about representation and status symbol, buy Iphone.

@JeeyanDee again I think it depends on what model of Iphone and model of Smart phone ( there are Numerous) you intend to buy and compare it with, you would need to know exactly first what you want to buy such as if you want to buy the latest Iphone then do a searh on a comparable smart phone model, here is one good example.
Nokia 6 vs Apple iPhone 7 Plus Mobile Phones Comparison - Compare Size, Camera, Specs, Features, Price of Nokia 6 with Apple iPhone 7 Plus.
