On being sad and happy

Whenever I'm sad, I usually write poems. Each word... Each line... I can spill them in the pages of my notebook. And it's pretty interesting how I could come up with stanzas... most often they rhyme, seldom they don't.
Then there are times when I listen to music. Those types that could even make you teary eyed. And when the heavy feelings subside, it's as if a built in cue to choose groovy songs instead.
I'm just amazed embracing sadness isn't that bad at all. It's actually a therapy to enjoy and appreciate happiness at times.

I agree..Me too..sometimes when I really feel so sad and I do not want others to be affected with my own sadness..I just make myself busy by writing what I felt inside me..and it helps me releasing the bad inner feelings

Wow. We're pretty much the same. Yes. It really helps in toning down strong feelings. Sometimes, our words maybe taken differently by other people whenever we share to them but when we write, atleast we can let those Out in sheets of papers

As long as you don't dwell on it and you know how to express your sadness, it's fine.
You are expressing yourself through your poems which is good and not keeping it in like others do until they become depressed.

I'm one of those odd writers who cannot write when I am sad. But, tick me off, and I will write the most scathing op-ed you have ever seen in your life (even if it looks like a little piece of poetry).

Hahahah. Sometimes it's the same with me. I can't write properly when I'm sad. Maybe because my emotions are too strong I don't know how to write in words anymore.
