Have you cried for chopping onion?

I think you've heard someone say that chopping onions makes you cry, but have you - in fact - already cried by chopping them? Well... I've lost count of how many times I've already chop onions (of various kinds) and never cried. They make you cry?

My answer is yes. Someone taught me the technique that I should put one piece of onion at the tip of knife so I won't cry when chopping them.

I remove the outer layer under the skin and have no problems.

It hasn't happened to me in awhile. But I think it's because I usually use only a couple of slices.

I almost always cry when I chop onions. I do find that some are less potent than others though.

I must say that I will cry a lot to deal with the onions This is why I use goggles. It may look weird to put on them when I am cutting onions, but at least it can avoid me from crying
