$10.8M for playing a computer game!

August 22, 2017 2:33am CST
And who says that playing computer games will get you nowhere? Recently, a tournament called The International (TI) 7, gave away a total pool of $24M to the winners of the Dota2 tournament. $10.8M of which, went to the grand prize winning team composed of 5 youngsters. Second placer went home with $3.9M. Something can be achieved as long as you follow your passion and put your heart into it.

I've never even heard of that game. I stay away from computer games because I find them addictive and stop me doing the more important things that need doing. Of course it's great for the privileged few who win a lot of money, but they must have put a lot of time into developing their skills to the level required to win that kind of money.

@obgonzales True, but it's something most of us will never experience.

@Gina145 yep, you may think of this as the olympics or something, where no ordinary athlete can show up and compete.

I agree. Still, it's amazing. To be part of the few who can participate in such tournament. You can say the same thing with other athletes or other sports.

Everything always depends on anything. This is a general statement, and not a universal fact.

This is my first time to hear that. I am not very surprised to it as many people play the computer games and it has become to be a profit business.
