Overworked but underpaid

Has anyone of you experienced this? I know several people who says they did. Even I feel like I'm in this situation now. How much work can you really handle or should you be handling in 1 day? Is it the company or the employees fault? The image is not mine. Credit to the owner.

It is really hard to explain but I had experienced it..I thought that having so much responsibilities will help you get paid fairly but instead they only want to save..And you end up doing 2 peoples work and got blamed for it

@weevee18 ..Yes..but for them you are a worker and get paid by their standards. I remember myself not being allowed to eat for a wholeday because they needed the data to be updated not even thinking of me getting sick if it will be my regular system ..So I resigned..they offered me a higher one but it was too late for that..I just had enough

@m_audrey6788 oh dear that's really sad. Not eating for the whole day that can make you sick :( It's the right decision. You had a tough one there but you survived it. Hope your current work doesn't stress you out like that

This is so true. I also feel that way. Sometimes the company is too focused on cost cutting si they neglect the employees needs. We are people after all right? We have feelings, we have basic needs. We are not robots.

@weevee18 No, I found another job first and then quit. I got married when I was 20 and so I had to be smart on how I did things. Sometimes I even did 2 and 3 jobs.

I think most employees are overworked and underpaid, especially the front liners. They get little to no appreciation from the bosses and they have the least privilege even though they're the bread and butter of each company. Feel sorry for the little guys; it's their little effort put together that makes a difference in the company.

Employers should of the welfare of their emoyees. It's the employees who makes a company successful right?

I think it is because they don't understand before signing the job offer, they were eager to say yes and be part of the company.

You have a point as well. It can happen to a person who's very eager to get the job and just said yes to everything during the interview or the hiring phase

I've felt like this a few times. With my freelance work, I get frustrated at times when there's not much work coming in. Times when I see all sorts of 'writing contests' and other such things which, basically, say they want your work but they're not willing to pay you properly for it. I'm about to leave a job where I'm over-worked and under-paid. I get a pretty decent hourly wage but the stress I deal with is not worth it. Sometimes it's down to the employer, sometimes it's the employee.

@weevee18 Also whether you can afford to leave and/or if you can find something else, of course!

Yes. It's also about making decisions. Whether you'd stay or not. Tolerate or not. Keep up or give up

Yes. Most definitely. Sad that probably most of us have experienced this due to under staffing or poor management. Very frustrating.

i think people who always say this -- aren't satisfied and don't love their job. They applied for it - gone through series of interviews just to get the position. And when they get to know the ins and outs of the job, they are not okay with the load they are given to them.

When the employer starts abusing his employes, it is time to have a frank talk with him or look for another job.
